South actresses in call girl roles

As films get bolder, our actresses get more versatile. While Bollywood has its share of heroines who have played the role of sex worker, filmmakers in the south too have cast actresses from here in similar roles. Here's a look at four actresses from the south who're essaying the risque call girl role in their films
Shruti Haasan Film: D-Day Language: Hindi Characterization: Her first-look in the film shocked many, but Shruti Haasan has taken on the role of a Karachi prostitute with panache. We hear her character falls in love with a RAW officer, and their love story takes the film forward.

Haripriya Film: Abbayi Class Ammayi Mass Language: Telugu Characterization: The actress plays a call girl for the first time in her career, and has attended an eight-day workshop for the role. "I learnt the slang, the way they dress and their body language for the film, which is about how a call girl learns the value of relationship and marriage and changes for the better. It's a sensible film and I had no second thoughts about taking on this role," she says.

Shriya Saran Film: Pavitra Language: Tamil and Telugu Characterization: The sexy siren plays the role of a prostitute, who nurtures an ambition of becoming a powerful politician in this film, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Janardhana Maharshi. Shriya had told us that this film would be an important one in her career, and has given her an opportunity to showcase her acting skills. "It was a tough decision to make, but my character has been handled with dignity, and not vulgarly," she had

Charmmee Film: Prema Oka Maikam Language: Telugu Characterization: Though hesitant at first, Charmmee was totally convinced of her character as soon director Chandu narrated the script to her. She will be seen playing a call girl catering to the high class society in the film, and says this role has given her scope to perform and experiment.
