Who is Surya’s next director?

The shooting of the film Singam 2 which has Surya in the lead role has come to an end. There is much news about who will be directing Surya next.

Director Lingusamy and Goutham Menon have been waiting for the dates of Surya.

Lingusamy has mentioned, “Surya has given dates for me from the last week of April. Since I have the dates of Samantha already I will commence the shooting.”
Goutham Menon has tweeted that Surya has given him dates and he will commence the shooting during the month of May. In the view of the foregoing, there is no information from Surya’s side regarding this.

When asked sources close to Surya about this, they mentioned, “Surya has given dates to Lingusamy after completing Singam 2.

The details regarding the commencement of shooting, cast and crew will be announced shortly.” Now it is confirmed that Surya will be donning the lead role in a film to be directed by Lingusamy.

Karthi-Kajal's 'All in All Azahgu Raja' finishes first schedule

Actor Karthi's forthcoming movie All in All Azhagu Raja under the direction of M.Rajesh completes its first schedule. his movie is touted as another romantic comedy entertainer from director Rajesh. Rajesh's usual comedian Santhanam would provide the comic relief. Kajal Aggarwal was selected as heroine uniting with Karthi for second time after Naan Mahaan Alla.T

The movie has completed its first schedule today and major parts of the film were canned in Coimbatore. Prabhu from Studio Green shared this news through a social networking site. He tweeted, “#Allinallazhaguraja successfully completed the first schedule today.”

Meanwhile, Karthi will join next schedule of Biriyani from March 31st in Hyderabad. Hansika is playing the female lead and Premji will be seen in a prominent role. Venkat Prabhu is directing this film and Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing tunes. Both the movies are produced under Studio Green productions.

Amala Paul off to Australia for 'Thalaivaa' shoot

Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Amala Paul are pairing up for the first time in AL Vijay's "Thalaivaa". The shooting of the movie is progressing at brisk pace. Thalaivaa team has recently left to Australia for their last schedule. Amala Paul headed to Australia along with Santhanam to join 'Thalaivaa' shoot.

She tweeted, “From the land of bull fights to the land of Kangaroos. Woahhhh Woahhhh guess who is my partner in crime on air: D... aaiii jolly jolly. . :D :D”

Thalaivaa is one of the most anticipated movies of 2013. First look of Thalaivaa was released recently and received a huge response from Vijay fans. Makers of Thalaivaa are planning to release a teaser very soon.

G.V.Prakash is composing the tunes and Nirav Shah is handling the camera. Chandra Prakash Jain, C.P.Sunil and C.P. Dinesh are producing this movie under Sri Mishri Productions.

Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi 's 'Vanakkam Chennai' first look unveiled

It is old news and we had already revealed you that Udayanidhi Stalin's wife Kiruthiga Udayanidhi is making her directorial debut with "Vanakkam Chennai". Mirchi Shiva, Priya Anand and Santhanam are playing the in lead roles. This will be the first film Shiva and Priya Anand pairing up for a film. The new film touted to be a romantic comedy entertainer will be produced by Kiruthiga’s husband Udhayanidhi Stalin under Red Giant Movies.

Now the latest news is that The movie’s first look was launched yesterday, which seem to be impressive.

The film, which is touted to be a fun-filled comedy entertainer, will have music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Richard M. Nathan is handling the cinematography and editing is by T.S.Suresh.

The movie is touted to be a romantic comedy and the film has begun on February 1 will be wrapped up shortly.

Thamirabarani Banu is now Muktha Banu

Banu who did Thamirabarani movie with Vishal was later identified as Thamirabarani Banu.

Though the movie Thamirabarani was successful and a box office hit, there was no takers for Banu in either Kollywood or any other woods.

She was in news for all wrong reasons, at one stage her father claiming that her mother is using her for prostitution.

Now, she has recovered from all such allegations, and is trying to get a place in Kollywood.

Banu is doing a movie based on Nagercoil in which she is speaking the Tamil of that area which has a mixture of Malayalam with Tamil.  Banu will here in after be called as Muktha Banu.

Muktha Banu, native of Kerala feels that she is comfortable to speak Nagercoil slang Tamil.

Saranya Mohan collapsed during shooting

Young actress Saranya Mohan who started her career as a child artiste in Malayalam is all set for Bollywood debut with the remake of director Susindran's Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, titled Badlapur Boys.

Sources say that during the film shoot, Saranya couldn't tolerate the heat wave and collapsed when a scene was being shot. The film crew reportedly panicked and immediately took her to a hospital for
treatment where she is recovering now.

Saranya Mohan is known for her films like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Azhagarsamiyin Kudirai. Reports say Saranya is doing fine and it was just the heat which took the toll on her. Best of luck Saranya.

The director says that the story line of this movie is based on a real life story, which befell someone close to him. "The story revolves around an Indian couple in a foreign nation, where the lady is denied her husband's love, and is lured by another man" he says. Now this has called for Disha to appear bold and raunchy. It is said that she has even gone on to sport swimwear for song sequences. Looks like the little chick has grown into a hot babe! Yaan First Look on April 1st

The first look of 'Yaan', starring Jiiva and Thulasi Nair will be revealed on April 1st instead of March 31st as reported earlier.

While the film's producer Elred Kumar had posted the later date on his twitter page, an official press statement has said that the first look of Jiiva and Thulasi Nair shall be unveiled on April 1st.

Yaan marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Ravi K Chandran with Jiiva and Thulasi playing the lead role and Harris Jayaraj composing the music.

Joy Dutta, a self-taught photographer trying to find his own style in street and fine-art landscape photography had done the photo shoot with Jiiva and Thulasi Nair for the film.

Both the director and actors seem to be happy with the photo shoot. Yaan has been shot in places like Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Morocco, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Iceland till now.

Prakash Raj and Nassar lead a strong support cast list.

I am fond of Nayan, but don't know how things transpire in future - Arya

Ever since the success Boss Engira Bhaskaran in which Arya and Nayanthara shared the screen, there has always been buzz about the relationship between the two actors.

Nayanthara who is making a comeback after her break up with Prabhu Dheva is starring in quite a few films which include Atlee's Raja Rani and Vishnuvardhan's 'Valai' along with Arya.

While a lot has been speculated about their relationship, Arya recently seems to have admitted that he is indeed very fond of Nayanthara.

He apparently had described his relationship with Nayan to be something special and added that of all the heroines that he is friends with, Nayanthara is the one with whom he opens up a lot more.

He says he is helpless when tabloids talk about the two getting hitched soon, but he feels that no one can tell how things will transpire in the future.

Vijay’s next film titled ‘Jila’!

Vijay’s next film after AL Vjay’s Thalaiva is titled Jila, to be directed by Nesan, who makes his debut into direction.

Now this film which once again sees the Thuppaki combination of Viay with Kajal Agarwal, will have music score by D Iman.

Interestingly, this movie will also have a Malayalam hero in an important role. While Thuppaki had Jayaram playing an interesting role, this movie will have Superstar Mohanlal as part of the cast.

The film is will roll from April 2013. The latest buzz is that the movie will be produced by RB Chowdhary, under his banner Super Good Films and is most likely to be distributed by Gemini Film Circuit who earlier marketed Vijay's Thupakki and Nanban too.

Kamal Hassan’s ‘Vishwaroopam DTH release!

The internationally critically acclaimed Kamal Hassan film ‘Vishwaroopam‘ still continues to make headlines.

  This time, it is with regard to the DTH release. Earlier, Kamal Hassan had filed a complaint at the Competitive Commission of India (CCI) that he was threatened that the movie will be banned, had he released it in DTH.
There were severe protests that any movie should not be released in other media, before it hits the big screen. Now the Director General of fair trade regulators is probing the case and the results are expected to come out by the end of this month.
According to CCI‘s report, the DG ordered completion of investigation in 60 days.

Rajnikanth’s ‘Kochadaiyan’ audio release in April!

Superstar’s ‘Kochadaiyan‘ is completely locked up in post production. Rajnikanth, KS Ravikumar and Soundarya watched the three hour long film, and we are informed that Rajni is in complete awe with the brilliance of the movie. Superstar appreciated and acknowledged the hard work of Soundarya and KS Ravikumar towards the movie.

Superstar Rajnikanth considers this film to be a milestone in his career and turning point in the animation domain in India.

Sources say that the movie has come out well and it exceeds expectations. Dubbing, rerecording and special effects will start work simultaneously from March 15th.

However, each of these processes will happen at a different locations on the world map. Dubbing will be done in a studio in London, rerecording in Los Angeles, while special effects will be carried out in Hong Kong.

Though not official yet, audio release for the film is expected to be in April.

Hansika Motwani: ”No lip-lock scenes”!

Actress Hansika Motwani clarifies that she is not doing any kissing scenes in her forthcoming films, including Settai, and urges fans not to spread rumours.

“There isn’t any lip-lock in any of my upcoming movies. Please stop spreading rumours,” Hansika Motwani posted on her twitter page.

Ever since she has been cast in Tamil comedy Settai, a remake of Hindi adult-comedy Delhi Belly, there were rumours that she will lip-lock with co-star Aarya in it.

Hansika Motwani essays the role originally played by Shenaz Treasurywala in the Tamil remake, which also features Anjali, Premgi Amaran and Santhanam.

Settai- An all-important film for Arya

Arya is currently the hottest actor in Kollywood who has no dates till 2015!

His hands are full.  Kannan directed Settai is releasing on April 5, followed by Selvaraghavan’s magnum opus Irandam Ulagam in May, and later by Vishnuvardhan’s Ajith starrer tentatively titled Valai. And he is also shooting for Raja Rani directed by Atlee.

Arya commands a whopping Rs 5 Crore today and his films can easily fetch Rs 20 Crore in the market. The star has a decent opening and a fan following especially among ladies and is strong in the B & C belts.

But for Arya , UTV’s Settai is going to be an important film. The film has him in the crucial role done by Imran Khan in the original Delhi Belly. The film has got an U certificate and is being marketed as a family entertainer and songs are already a hit. Settai sees Arya reuniting with Santhanam with whom he gave the blockbuster Boss Engira Baskaran.

Now for Arya, Settai has to become a super hit for him to ride on his star appeal. Arya did not have a release for a long time. And his last release Vettai in January 2012, was pretty lukewarm at the box-office.

 So Settai has to get the opening and numbers to make his next film, the big-budget Irandam Ulagam attractive to the buyers. Arya is confident that Settai releasing on April 5 will be a hit, as it is a ‘friendship-comedy’ film which normally works in Kollywood.

Vishal gives nod to Suseenthiran's film

Vishal, who is currently associated with Michael Rayappan’s 'Pattathu Yaanai', which is being directed by Bhoopathy Pandian, will be soon joining Suseenthiran of 'Nan Magan Alla' and 'Rajapattai' fame. The director is said to have narrated a script to Vishal for which the latter was impressed and gave his nod immediately. Reports also suggest that Hansika will be pairing up with Vishal in this flick.

Vishal confirms, "I will begin work on Susee's film from May. It's a rustic story, set in Madurai. I'm very excited about this film, but I can't reveal much at this point. I will wrap up Pattathu Yaanai by April. By then, the rest of the cast and crew for Susee's film would be finalized."

Meanwhile, Vishal’s film with Sundar C, Madha Gaja Raja, is all set for a release soon. On the other hand Suseenthiran is also busy completing his Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer.

It is to be noted that after Avan Ivan, Vishal is very much conscious in selecting scripts.

Tamil Film Actors to observe one day token fast on Srilanka issue

Following the one-day token fast observed by Tamil Nadu Film Directors' Association and Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) on March 19, it is now the turn of the Nadigar Sangam to go on a strike in support of Sri Lankan Tamils.The actors from the Tamil film industry will go on a token fast on April 2 at the Nadigar Sangam premises.A source in the know says, "The Sri Lankan issue has snowballed into a major talking point after the protests by the college students.The fast called for by the directors' union received phenomenal response but the absence of actors was sorely felt.Now, with top stars like Rajini and Kamal Haasan agreeing to be present for this fast, it will only highlight the issue better.We hear that film shoots for that day have been cancelled and actors who are presently out of station have also been urged to return to Chennai for the fast.

Children of film stars often don't always look inside their homes for inspiration. Star kids are now looking beyond their parents for other role models and mentors.

A number of film stars will see their children debut on the silver screen this year, and it is no surprise that the young breed is raring to go. Having watched their parents win fame and fan affection, they are their closest role models. But there are other young guns for whom the world of cinema and people outside the immediate family provide inspiration and example.

Vikram Prabhu sought the blessings of Ajith and Rajinikanth prior to the release of his film, ‘Kumki’. Shanthanoo Bhagyaraj insisted that his mother, Poornima Bhagyaraj (an actress from yesteryear) make her comeback with Vijay's ‘Jilla’ -Shanthanoo is a huge fan of Vijay.

Role models for young actors these days are not stars from their own families alone. Being exposed to the world of cinema on their own terms is helping them create ideals and role models of their own. “It would be really weird for me to pick just one person who's inspired me,” says Shruti Haasan.

“There are some immensely hard-working people in this industry that I call my family.

My parents too belong to this film fraternity, and I've grown up with them, and I have to thank my parents for giving me a very humble upbringing. I went to school on a school bus, had non-filmi friends. And when I went to America, being Kamal Haasan's daughter didn't have much of an impact.”

Being an individual has helped her carve a niche for herself, she points out. “It was important I carried myself without that price tag, and that has definitely helped me become the person I am,” she says.

Having grown up watching her father on the big screen, it was but obvious for Aishwarya Arjun, daughter of Action King Arjun, to make her entry into the film industry now. But has the pressure of carrying her pressure of carrying father's name hit her yet?

“Your work will always be compared with that of your parents, and you have to live up to the name. But then again, I am trying not to take the pressure too seriously,” says Aishwarya. She also realises how important it is to have a mentor in the industry, and who can be better than one's own father? “I have grown up watching his films, so it is natural for my dad to advise me and share his experience about the film fraternity,” says Aishwarya who is all set to make her debut opposite Vishal in ‘Pattathu Yaanai’.

While some might be ready to face the world, there are still those who believe in finding inspiration at home. Karthika Nair who made her Malayalam debut with ‘Makaramanju’ in 2011 had her actress mother Radha coach her. Did Radha feel the need to be there with her daughter at all times? “The time when we were actors was different,” says Radha. “Even for ‘Makaramanju’, I ensured I was there for my daughter when she needed me. Being the youngest amongst the team, her character required a certain maturity and launching my daughter in an arty film was an even bigger challenge.

I encouraged her and briefed her because it was a substantial role she had received early in her career.”

Bharath's Killadi to hit theatres

Venkatesh is a past master in action and comedy scripts. 'Killadi' is no different.

Bharath, who disappeared from the scene for some time, is back with a film, titled Killadi. Directed by A. Venkatesh, who is known for his high-action masala films, Killadi, produced by Salem Chandrashekar, was lying in the cans for unforeseen reasons despite being completed is all set to release soon.

The glamorous Nila, who also all but vanished from the scene, is back. “Bharat and I are not the typical romantic pair in the film. In fact, we don’t even meet each other till the interval,” Nila had said in an earlier interview. The audio, with Srikanth Deva’s compositions, was released in the city recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Vivek who plays the comedian, said, “Venkatesh is a past master in action and comedy scripts. Killadi is no different.

Its humour rocks.” Several film personalities, including Bharath, Venkatesh, K.R., Perarasu, Gnanvel Raja and Siva, were present on the occasion.

Dhansika pairs up with Vijay Sethupathi for Sangudevan

Dhansika who is getting good reviews for her performance in the recently released 'Paradesi' directed by Bala has signed her next flick 'Sangudevan' opposite happening actor Vijay Sethupathy.
Produced by JSK Film Corporation and directed by Sudhakar, a former assistant to director Hari, the film is expected to go on floors by May.
Dhansika has revealed that she was been approached by film makers continuously with rural based films while she was keen on working in city based movies.
She has expressed her happiness about her desire being fulfiller through Sangudevan.
Dhansika, who was appreciated for her roles in films like Peranmai and Aravaan is also working on two other films namely 'Ya Ya' and 'Vizhithiru'.

Bala's Paradesi receives Thumbs Up from Box Office too!

Thiruppathi Bros Dum Dum Pee Pee film stayed by High Court

--> Nandini Reddy's Jabardasth starring Siddarth and Samantha is being dubbed in Tamil as Dum Dum Pee Pee by Thirrupathy Brothers.
With the rumours of Siddarth and Samantha having married doing the rounds the film was expected more, but the Delhi High Court has given a stay order on the film's release.
Yaash Raj Films filed a case against makers of Telugu film 'Jabardasth' which is said to be an unauthorised remake of Yash Raj films Band Baaja Baaraat in Delhi court.
Yash Raj requested a stay on Jabardasth's Tamil version release titled 'Dum Dum Pee Pee' and release of DVD's, VCD's, Blue-ray & Satellite & other electronic platforms.
The Delhi court gave a temporary stay on film release in all platforms and its Tamil version too.
The High Court has also ordered the producers to stop the screening as well as the release of Jabardasth in any other formats, which means Thirrupathy Brothers' Dum Dum Pee Pee will have to wait till the problem gets sort out.

Ajith and Vijay are my two eyes - Director Ezhil

The director had made Thulladha Manamum Thullum with Viijay, and Poovellam Un Vaasam and Raja with Ajith.
All these films were well received by the audience. Ezhil is now busy working with actor Vimal for his next outing, Desinguraja.

Meanwhile, arrangements are going on to have the movie released on the hero's birthday that is on the 22nd of June.

The 'Thalaivaa' team is currently shooting in Australia for a few pivotal scenes and a song. The film has actor Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Amala Paul, Ragini Nandwani and Santhanam to its star cast. The movie is directed by film maker AL Vijay and cinematographed is by Nirav Shah and music is scored by composer GV Prakash.

Nayantara joins Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal shoot

Nayantara is playing the female lead in Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal. She recently joined Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal team in Coimbatore after completing her Mumbai schedule of Ajith’s upcoming venture Valai (tentative title).

Udhayanidhi Stalin is playing the lead role and S. R. Prabhakaran of Sundarapandian fame is wielding the megaphone for Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal. Harris Jayraj is composing the tunes for this film.

Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal has also got Santhanam and Saranya Ponvannan in the supporting roles. Udhayanidhi Stalin is producing this flick under Red Giant Films productions.

Enjoyed playing bride, says actress Lekha Washington

Actress Lekha Washington, known for playing offbeat roles, says she enjoyed playing a bride in upcoming Tamil romantic-comedy “Kalyana Samayal Saadham” (KSS), a story about the chaos of a big fat south Indian wedding.

“My career is inundated with offbeat roles, but thanks to KSS, I got to present myself as a heroine for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed playing a bride in the film because I got to be portrayed as a beautiful south Indian. Imagine how a family treats a bride in real life, such is the treatment I was receiving on sets,” Lekha said.

She is paired opposite Prasanna Venkatesan in the film, in which she plays a very strong character.

“One of the reasons I signed the film is because I essay a very powerful character. I haven’t played such a character in my career. I play this spunky, free-spirited girl raised in a typical middle class family,” she added.

Lekha said she enjoys working with a young team.

“The team of KSS is young and over enthusiastic. God forbid, we didn’t have a single fight or any sort of misunderstanding while shooting. I think this is one of the advantages of working with a young team as they are highly professional and committed,” she said.

KSS is directed by debutant R.S. Prasanna. It also features Delhi Ganesh and Uma Padmanabhan in important roles.

Arun Vaidyanathan and Ananth Govindan have jointly produced the film, which is currently in post-production phase.

Meanwhile, Lekha is currently busy shooting for Hindi action crime-thriller “Power”, which is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

Ajith kumar to go for a surgery !!!

Nagi Reddy. The shooting of this commercial entertainer will commence from April 1st in Hyderabad.

Kamalhassan wins 50 lakhs

Actor Kamal Haasan and Gauthami took part in the shoot of Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, hosted by Prakash Raj. The shooting of the episode was held at the AVM Studios in Vadapalani and they won Rs 50 lakhs. It was announced that they will share the prize money with an NGO. The money will be donated to Petral Thaan Pillaya and Can Care.

It has to be ntoed that Kamal is known for his philantrophic activities and humanitarin approacha and has been supporting the initiative Petral Thaan Pillaiya for the past several years. Petral Thaan Pillaya supports the HIV affected kids.
